May Day Bank Holiday
Monday 7 May 2018
2pm to 4pm

St. Mark's Church, St. Mark's Crescent, Kingsthorpe, NN2 8EG

On May Day Bank Holiday, Monday 7 May 2018, St. Mark's will be hosting a free community fete for residents of Whitehills, Spring Park and Obelisk wards.  We will be opening up our church, hall, grounds and green so that local families and those who live on their own can come and have a wonderful afternoon.  Local schools, groups and organisations have been invited to take part.

In the church, there will be cream teas and a display of organisations and groups in the local area.  During the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to hear our church organ being played.  Cakes, Ice creams and hot dogs will also be on sale.

Community Bake-Off competition

There will be a Community Bake Off competition judged by our very own expert bakers, who can give Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood a run for their money.

To enter:  Print off a copy of the relevant recipe.  For children under 13, this is for gingerbread or shortbread.  For older children and adults, this is for a Chocolate sponge cake.   Bake your gingerbread or shortbread or sponge cake.  Bring them to the fete for judging by St. Mark's own answer to 'Mary' and 'Paul'.  You'll need to enter them by 12 noon.  And wait for our judges' comments!  There will be a prize for each of the winners.

Entry costs £1.

If you are able and available, we would like to invite you to come and join us.  Bring your neighbours too!  It will be a brilliant afternoon.  So, put the date in your diary now.
